World of Coffee 2023 unveils its programme
DXB Live has finalised preparations for the three-day World of Coffee Dubai 2023, which will take place from 11-13 January 2023 and will bring together coffee traders, professionals and industry enthusiasts.
More than 1,500 international, regional and local companies and brands have already registered, so the number of visitors to the event is expected to double that of last year. The exhibition, organised by DXB Live in collaboration with the Speciality Coffee Association, will be held in Halls 5 and 6 of Za’beel at DWTC.
Held for the second consecutive year in Dubai, this year’s World of Coffee exhibition will bring together industry leaders and experts, including farmers, traders, brewers, distributors, SMEs, café owners, breweries, hotels, baristas, as well as coffee lovers and connoisseurs from around the world to explore new opportunities in the sector. The 2023 event is designed to build on the success of last year’s event, which attracted 6,000 visitors. Dubai has become the first city outside the US and Europe to host this global event.
Dubai’s strategic location and ability to provide world-class trade services make it a major hub connecting some of the world’s major coffee-producing countries with the fast-growing and high-value consumer markets of the Middle East and Europe. The coffee market in the Middle East and Africa is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.5% from 2022 to 2027, while the UAE coffee market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 8.3% from 2021 to 2027.
World of Coffee Dubai 2023 will feature several leading international, regional and local brands. Participating countries include Brazil, Greece, France, Colombia, Turkey, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Romania, Singapore, Qatar, Panama, Oman, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Jordan, Indonesia, India, Georgia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Bolivia, Belgium, Austria, China, Ukraine and UK.
Visitors to World of Coffee Dubai 2023 will be able to take part in many unique events and activities, including the Cupping Room, Brew Bar and Roasters Village. In addition to seminars and lectures, the event will feature a number of competitions including the UAE National Barista Championship, the Coffee Design Award and the New Product Competition.
The Roasters’ Village, which will be one of the most attractive venues at the event, will provide visitors with the opportunity to interact with micro-roasters. In this segment of the event, visitors will be able to learn about the latest developments in sourcing, processing, roasting and brewing coffee. Coffee connoisseurs will be able to sample coffee drinks from around the world. In the Cupping Room at the fair, visitors will be able to taste, evaluate and compare several coffee grinds to determine the quality and potential of the product. A total of 11 exhibitors will showcase unique beans, roasted beans or techniques.
One of the most interesting segments of the event, Brew Bar, will offer a three-hour session for 35 coffee shops to showcase their coffee choices, including French press, brew, cold brew, Turkish and traditional coffee. All coffee offerings will be handcrafted for guests to try immediately.
The industry’s most inspiring designers will be recognised at the three-day Coffee Design Award ceremony, which will be held during the show, in four categories – Vessels, Spaces, Packaging and Presentation. The UAE National Barista Championship, which will also be held during the show, will allow the country’s top 12 baristas to compete for prizes based on drink quality, overall presentation, innovation, technical expertise and cleanliness. The winner of the UAE championship will represent their country at the upcoming World Barista Championships in Athens. In the Best New Product competition, high-quality coffee products will compete for awards in various categories, including Coffee Accessories, Commercial Coffee Preparation and Serving Equipment, Consumer Coffee Preparation and Serving Equipment and Open Class.
World of Coffee Dubai 2023 will be held on 11 and 12 January from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and 13 January from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
