MENA IPO Summit launch

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) have announced their partnership to host the MENA IPO Summit – Dubai, an important new platform designed to bring together the entire IPO value chain and the region’s only IPO-focused summit. The inaugural summit will shed light on the strong momentum and promising prospects for the initial public offerings (IPO) sector in Dubai.

The launch comes at an opportune time for Dubai’s investment community and the region as a whole, following record levels of IPO activity – large-scale initial public offerings have formed the backbone of the regional business landscape in 2022, and the expected momentum in 2023.

During 2022, DFM strengthened its role in facilitating the economic development of Dubai and the UAE by becoming an effective platform for raising funds through IPOs and listings by five leading government and private sector-linked issuers, namely DEWA, Tecom, Salik, Empower and Taaleem. These companies successfully raised more than AED 31 billion and their IPOs witnessed a remarkable oversubscription, which resulted in AED 672 billion worth of underwritings.

MENA IPO Summit, to be held from 23-25 January 2023 at the Museum of the Future, will bring together industry experts who will share first-hand knowledge of the IPO process, the opportunities and challenges of becoming a public company, and how to promote ESG programmes. The summit will also present a roadmap for start-ups and SMEs in Dubai, including expertise on the regulatory framework, business culture and opportunities to raise capital to scale up to IPO.

The summit will provide a platform for industry-defining discussions, giving institutional investors, family businesses and start-ups the opportunity to explore the latest regulations, best practices and market trends in Dubai’s capital market, as well as learn about the latest regional IPO success stories. Participants will have the opportunity to network with key IPO issuers and thought leaders from the investment and capital markets industry.

MENA IPO Summit will generate lively discussion among issuers, investment experts, regulators and companies strategically preparing for a future listing.

The summit is supported by a group of leading international financial institutions including HSBC and Emirates NBD as platinum sponsors, Goldman Sachs, Rothchiled & Co. and Edelman Smithfield as diamond sponsors and Moelis & Company as supporting partner. BARCLAYS, Al Tamimi & Co, Arqaam Capital, EFG Hermes and Grant Thornton are also gold sponsors. BHM Capital, Century Financial, Protiviti and Teneo also supported the event as networking sponsors.
