GDRFA issues residency via video call

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has simplified the way of applying for residency in the emirate – foreigners living abroad can now contact the authority via video call.

The new high-tech service is designed for resident visa procedures. The service can be contacted via the Amer 8005111 number as well as the GDRFA website and mobile app. Any device with a front camera can be used.

The video call can be used to complete the process for standard residence visas, golden visas, legal advice, information on entry permit regulations, as well as to renew electronic documents.

Thanks to the new video call service, applicants can submit documents in just five minutes. The new service will also help reduce live queues at immigration centres. The authority expects to move all visitors to e-services at a later date.

Between 2019 and 2022, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai issued more than 150,000 golden visas, which are long-term residence permits.

The 10-year residency visa allows you to live, work or study in the United Emirates and enjoy exclusive benefits. The Office also issued 15,542,384 entry and residence permits.

There are several ways to apply for golden visas that entitle you to reside in the UAE for 5 or 10 years. These include processing through the government and immigration authorities (GDRFA and AMER) in person or via a mobile app, through developers or the Dubai Land Department, as well as through specialist agencies.
