Dubai nearly regains pre-pandemic tourist traffic

Dubai welcomed 14.36 million foreign visitors in 2022, bringing it close to pre-pandemic levels in terms of tourist traffic. By comparison, Dubai received 16.73 million foreign tourists in 2019.

According to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the emirate, with its advanced transport network and high service standards, plans to take one of the world’s leading positions in tourism and hospitality.

“The pace of growth shows that we never rest on our laurels and are constantly working to improve our performance. In the coming years, Dubai will be an even bigger growth driver for global tourism and transport connectivity,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

Dubai is positioning itself as a “first class safe travel destination” offering first class shopping, nightlife, luxury hotels and desert adventures.

February is a time when the UAE has a huge selection of hotels (beach and city) for every taste and budget, seasonal discounts are quite large, and ticket prices are at a relatively low level. By the end of February, prices will have risen between 10 and 40%.

During holidays and public holidays (February 23, March 8) there will be an increase in the cost of tour packages by 30-40% compared to current prices: Not only airfares, but also hotels become more expensive.

Therefore, tourists who have the opportunity are advised to go on holiday in mid-February. It is no coincidence that holidays in Dubai in winter are most popular: the climate in February is ideal for sightseeing and excursions.

Tourists arriving in the United Arab Emirates no longer need to present a certificate of vaccination or a negative PCR test to board a flight. At the same time, passengers travelling with a stopover in Dubai must follow the requirements of their final destinations.
