Dubai Media Council holds meeting for media professionals

The Dubai Media Council held a meeting for media professionals on the sidelines of the 10th World Government Summit. The meeting was organised at the behest of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Council, to deepen engagement and build strong relationships with local, Arab and international media organisations.

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Dubai Media Council and Director General of Dubai Government Media Office, said that Dubai considers media as a vital stakeholder in the development of Arab society.

While interacting with media professionals, representatives of the Dubai Media Council discussed the objectives guiding the Council’s work, which was developed under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed. These include building strong relationships and co-operation with the media, promoting the exchange of media knowledge and expertise, as well as fostering dialogue on creative initiatives aimed at enhancing the role of Arab media in achieving the aspirations of the people of the region.

The meeting also discussed the Council’s vision and strategy that are in line with Dubai’s development priorities, and the role of the media in achieving the D33 Dubai Economic Programme’s goal of Dubai becoming one of the world’s top three cities. Strategies for developing the media talent pool and promoting the latest technologies were also discussed.

Participants in the meeting also exchanged views on the country’s remarkable development path and new initiatives that have been created to achieve the UAE leadership’s vision for the future.  Media representatives attending the meeting praised Dubai’s efforts to keep pace with the rapid development of industries around the world, develop a strong sustainable economy and shape a new bright future.
