Global Village raffles off big cash prize
Global Village Multicultural Park, a popular family attraction in Dubai, has announced a new competition where the winner will receive a large cash prize of AED 27,000.
The raffle competition will be held as part of the park’s launch of a festival to mark International Happiness Day. Passengers of Wonder Rides Taxi will complete fun challenges: those who solve the riddles will be entered into a raffle draw.
Celebrity taxi drivers from New York, Cuba, Japan, Thailand, Mexico and Lebanon have come to the park especially for Wonder Rides. All participants can leave themed photos tagged with #WonderRides on social media, which will allow them to participate in the prize competitions.
The festival, which runs until 20 March, plans exciting performances with 30 street performers each day – from Canada, Australia, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Switzerland and other countries around the world.
The Air Muse from Australia is taking part – she is presenting a show by Theaker Von Ziarno. Jessica Arpin from Switzerland is demonstrating juggling and riding upside down on a bicycle. Sarah Twister from Germany will be shooting an arrow with her feet while balancing on her hands.
Happiness Street Fest includes unique shows and performances by magician Billy the Kid from the UK, circus Cata Catarsis from Spain, Espuma Bruma and Mona Ciro from Argentina and many others.
Global Village opened its 27th season on 25 October 2022. More than 3,500 vendor booths in 27 national pavilions and 200 colourful performances daily await guests. These include world-class performers, street entertainment and the region’s only stunt show on water.
One of the new additions to the popular tourist and family destination is the Asia Road section, a pedestrian street with 43 stalls. 13 Asian countries including Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Brunei, Laos, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and the Philippines display arts and crafts.
Two countries have added to the list of pavilions, with Qatar and Oman presenting their products. The pavilions of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Africa, America, China, Egypt, Europe, India, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, Yemen and Russia were also updated.
