Entrepreneurship Makers Forum takes place in Dubai

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has organised an ‘Entrepreneurship Makers Forum’, a community initiative aimed at promoting business growth through the exchange of ideas and solutions. More than 150 young Emirati entrepreneurs attended the event, which was held at Al Khawanij Council.

H.E. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, CEO of GDRFA, said that by hosting the Entrepreneurship Makers Forum, GDRFA hopes to create a roadmap and develop a systematic strategy for success for entrepreneurs. He added that the forum would become an annual event, including an accompanying exhibition, based on recommendations from participants.

According to Al Marri, GDRFA has successfully supported more than 600 new projects in the past 18 months. These projects have been showcased at the government department, giving their owners the opportunity to benefit from successful experiences.

Al Marri urged the young people to take advantage of these opportunities and learn from them. By doing so, they will be able to develop their projects and grow their businesses.

The young entrepreneurs evaluated the major challenges they faced at the start of their careers. They urged official institutions to be receptive to their proposals and support their projects.

They also recommend the creation of an organisation that would evaluate the proposed projects and provide continuous support to ensure their growth. In addition, the entrepreneurs suggest that pioneering entrepreneurs establish an e-platform under the auspices of the Dubai government. This platform would accept their projects and help market their products, increasing their visibility and success.
