Breakbulk Middle East announces dates for 2024

Following the success of Breakbulk Middle East (BBME) 2023, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, organisers have announced dates for 2024.

The event, scheduled for 12-13 February next year at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will once again bring the sector together to strengthen its growth and stimulate the economy in the Middle East.

The 2023 event concluded successfully last month with 6,496 attendees, a 93 per cent increase from 2022. With an 84 per cent increase in attendance, BBME attracted professionals from across the industrial project supply chain, including freight forwarding, maritime, ports and terminals, equipment, air and road transport.

The conference touched on all developments in the sector, tracing its progress over the past year.

The conference featured insightful sessions, including discussions on business prospects, rates, capacity and sustainability, the role of megaprojects in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other countries, as well as key initiatives such as the Women in Breakbulk networking breakfast and Education Day.

Ben Blamir, Breakbulk Middle East events director, said: “Year after year, industry professionals look forward to attending BBME as it is a niche event dedicated to project cargo and the breakbulk sector. This year we had an outstanding response. We saw participants from 98 countries, with the United Arab Emirates, India, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Singapore, the US and others leading the way. Interestingly, 32 per cent of the participants held key positions in end-procurement bodies. This is literally the driving force behind the industry. With over 90 per cent of exhibitors re-registering for 2024 and in many cases taking up more space than in 2023, we have added a third hall to meet market demand for 2024.”
