Gault&Millau Awards to take place in Burj Al Arab

Only a few days remain before one of the most prestigious and anticipated events of the year in the gastronomic world of Dubai. The Gault&Millau UAE Guide gala dinner and awards ceremony will take place at the Burj Al Arab on 27 April.

Over the years, the French award has become not only a valuable prize for the country’s leading restaurants and chefs, but also a real festival of flavours for foodies from around the world.

For the past nine months, Gault&Millau experts have travelled incognito to explore the country’s most outstanding establishments. They evaluated restaurants on a number of criteria, including the quality and compatibility of ingredients, technique, as well as the level of service and the restaurant’s focus on sustainability.

Twelve categories of awards will be presented at the gala, including recognition of outstanding chefs. The final list in the Gault&Millau UAE guide includes 134 restaurants in the country, 113 of which are in Dubai.

It is worth recalling that Dubai’s Dubai Food Festival, which runs until 7 May, is a gastronomic festival with an exciting programme of events and culinary experiences.

Over the past 10 years, the number of restaurants in Dubai has grown from around 5,500 to 13,000. During this time, a wide variety of dining concepts, pop-up cafés and restaurant courtyards have emerged.

Visitors to the tenth Dubai Food Festival can expect culinary masterclasses from renowned chefs, oyster-opening lessons, cooking classes for children, tasting dinners; exclusive set menus and price reductions at 50 top Dubai restaurants; the Etisalat Beach Canteen food court, where you can taste dishes from local establishments, and much more.
