Global Village starts registering new tenants
Multicultural park Global Village, Dubai’s popular family attraction, has started registering business owners to rent retail space for the 2023-24 season.
In its 27th season, which ended in April, the park welcomed more than 9 million visitors. Applications to rent retail space can be submitted online, with the administration also assisting tenants with visa and customs procedures for importing goods.
Traditionally, the park offers not only stalls in the national goods pavilions but also outdoor cafés, speciality restaurants and coffee shops, as well as pavilions on the water. The event has been taking place from October to April since 1997.
Today the park is home to some 30 pavilions displaying products and souvenirs from over 90 countries. Visitors can enjoy dozens of different attractions, evening entertainment shows, delicious food and bargains.
The fair features Yemeni honey, hand-woven Iranian and Afghani carpets, argan oil from Morocco, embossed Spanish necklaces and dried fruits from Thailand. Participants convey the atmosphere of their home country through sounds, scents and vivid scenery, creating the impression of a true circumnavigation of the globe.
The evening entertainment includes performances by illusionists, musicians and comedians on the World Culture Stage. The fair also has attractions for the whole family. Numerous restaurants, cafés and street-food stalls offer food from all over the world.
Also in 2019, Global Village opened the Middle East’s first branch of the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium, which includes 6 themed rooms. The exhibition features unusual objects, optical illusions and interactive exhibits.
