Mohammed bin Rashid awards 16 CSR organisations

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, awarded a number of leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) companies in recognition of their important role in strengthening sustainable development practices.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of strengthening and organising corporate social responsibility by launching strategic projects with a national priority.

Sheikh Mohammed noted that the company’s role goes beyond making a profit and has a positive impact on society and the environment.

This was during an event held at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, and His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed awarded 16 leading CSR companies with the Platinum Category Medal for Community Impact, awarded by the National CSR Foundation in recognition of leading UAE companies and organisations that operate in line with environmental and social sustainability standards, governance, sustainable development goals and national priorities.

The award-winning companies include Etihad Rail, Emirates Group, DP World, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, HSBC Middle East, Crescent Enterprises, Emirates National Oil Company Limited (ENOC), Dubai Holding Asset Management, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), Etisalat Group, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Khidmah, Dulsco, Dolphin Energy Limited, Apparel Group and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).

The event includes the launch of the Foundation’s new corporate identity, a demonstration of the impact of projects implemented by the Foundation, such as the Addressing the COVID-19 Pandemic project, the impact of which has affected over 395,000 beneficiaries, the Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy in collaboration with the Umm Al Kuwain government and the Ministry of Economy and the Emirates Nature Society, and the tourism hackathon, the impact of which has affected over 100 beneficiaries.

“Majra” launches a number of national priority projects that have a sustainable impact on the UAE and provide opportunities for collaboration and investment in various sectors. The fund also rewards and promotes the social responsibility and sustainable impact practices of businesses.

The National CSR Foundation is the federal body that sets the framework and governance of corporate social responsibility in the UAE, managing and guiding private sector contributions in CSR and sustainable impact that support environmental, social and governance principles (ESGs) and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
