Mushrif National Park to introduce huge walking trail

Dubai Municipality has announced the opening of a huge walking trail in Mushrif National Park. The 10-kilometre trail will be the first of its kind in Dubai and will start welcoming outdoor enthusiasts as early as 20 June 2023.

The route will consist of several trails suitable for both beginners and professionals, including an 8.3-kilometre walking trail (yellow) and a 1.4-kilometre sports trail (orange).

Public toilets have been installed for hikers throughout the park, and signs and information about how to stay safe in nature have been posted. Visitors and hikers can enjoy the trail free of charge all year round. Panoramic viewing platforms have been installed along the trail, offering wilderness views.

Hikers should bring plenty of drinking water and wear sports clothes and shoes. Children aged 12 to 15 years old may walk the trail accompanied by an adult. Pedestrians are advised to give way to cyclists and not to litter. Campfires, smoking and pitching tents are also prohibited.

Dubai Municipality has previously equipped Mushrif Park with a 50km-long mountain biking track for mountain biking enthusiasts, including beginners and professionals. The park also has a number of restaurants and sports facilities including a swimming pool and a football pitch.

The area is home to many species of Middle Eastern birds such as Arabian timelias, yellow-throated rock sparrows, nightingales and many more. A special treat is the desert barnacle, which used to forage in the grass or coo in the trees outside the mosque.

There are also playgrounds for children, fun games and steam train rides. On special occasions they can enjoy music concerts in the park’s large theatre and for the more adventurous there is the Aventura Parks ropes course.
