‘Make Smart Summer Choices Your Habit’ campaign by DEWA

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched the ‘Make Smart Summer Choices Your Habit’ campaign, aimed at raising public awareness of efficient electricity and water consumption management through a smart app. The campaign also encourages customers to use DEWA’s smart services and programmes to understand their consumption patterns. They can also learn about the personalised advice that DEWA provides to each customer and customise their proactive plan to limit their waste. This motivates customers to adopt daily, simple, sensible and more sustainable practices.

‘Make Smart Summer Choices Your Habit’ campaign encourages customers to take advantage of DEWA’s smart services on the website and app to immediately detect water leaks and reduce waste. These services include the Smart Living dashboard, which allows customers to monitor their consumption and receive annual, monthly and daily consumption reports. The ‘My Sustainable Living Programme’ allows customers to compare their consumption with similar homes in their area and receive tailored advice. With the ‘Away Mode’ service, they can receive daily and weekly reports by email when they activate the service or go on a trip. The ‘Self-Assessment’ tool includes a questionnaire that allows customers to assess their consumption. Customers receive a detailed report on their consumption after completing the assessment. The DEWA Store in the app provides a reliable list of technical service providers in case of internal building faults. Customers can also take advantage of exclusive discounts in the DEWA Store to make their home ‘smart’.

Finally, DEWA provides a High-Water Usage Alert service to help customers detect leaks in water connections after the meter. This service sends instant notifications to customers if the smart meter system detects an unusual increase in consumption.
