Tripadvisor names Dubai safari the world’s best entertainment experience

Online travel portal Tripadvisor has named Dubai’s safari as the world’s best activity for travellers in 2023. Thus, the desert jeep adventure won the most likes from tourists in the ‘What to do’ category.

To compile the ranking, the online platform Tripadvisor analyzed data from the reviews of millions of people around the world for 12 months. The list of unusual experiences for travellers also includes hiking to Machu Picchu in Peru, whale watching in Alaska and snorkelling on tectonic plates in Iceland.

Adventures in the Lähbab dunes have become a firm favourite with tourists. As well as jeep rides, there are quad biking, camel riding, sandboarding, stargazing and a traditional Arabic barbecue.

The list of the world’s best attractions also includes the Dubai Fountain, which even beat out the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Empire State Building in New York, but lost out to the Colosseum in Rome and the Basilica of the Holy Family in Barcelona.

Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island won twice in the World’s Best Amusement Park and Waterpark category. Abu Dhabi’s theme parks Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld Yas Island made the global top ten.

Dubai was ranked third in the world’s top 10 cities, ahead of New York, London, Tokyo, Sydney, Johannesburg, Paris and San Francisco, British magazine The Economist reported earlier in June.

As noted by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, this assessment reflects Dubai’s achievements over the past three years. He recalled that the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) aims to transform the emirate into one of the best cities in the world.
