Sheikh Hamdan conquers Half Dome Hike in Yosemite National Park
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has completed one of the most challenging treks in the world – conquering the Half Dome hiking trail in Yosemite National Park (USA). The journey lasted 8 hours and the distance covered was 34.5 kilometres.
According to information posted on the official Half Dome Hike page, the trail is considered very challenging. An unprepared hiker who is unsure of his or her abilities is better not to even try to conquer this height. According to statistics, the trek to Half Dome and back takes 10 to 12 hours, and the Crown Prince of Dubai was able to overcome the route in less than 9 hours.
Sheikh Hamdan shared a slew of photos and videos on Instagram, receiving an instant and enthusiastic response from his followers. According to one of them, the Crown Prince of Dubai is doing inspiring deeds worthy of a true leader. According to another subscriber, His Highness earned the love through his careful treatment of nature.
Half Dome Rock is hugely popular among tourists and is one of the symbols of Yosemite National Park. Its top is located at an altitude of 2694 metres above sea level. For a long time the rock remained unconquered, and only in 1875 the first man, George Anderson, stepped on its top. Now the height has been conquered by the Crown Prince of Dubai.
Prince Hamdan leads an active lifestyle and his list of hobbies is huge – skydiving, diving, fishing, falconry, snowboarding, cycling and more. In his spare time he writes poetry under the pseudonym Fazza, which he dedicates to his homeland and family.
