Dolce&Gabbana x ADMAF Design Award 2023 competition launched

The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF) in collaboration with renowned fashion brand Dolce&Gabbana has announced the launch of the Dolce&Gabbana x ADMAF Design Award 2023. Any talented young UAE resident, student or recent university graduate can take advantage of this unique chance to win the award.

The Dolce&Gabbana x ADMAF Design Award 2023 comprises three separate categories: fashion, jewellery and fragrances. In each category, young designers and perfumers are invited to showcase their artistic flair and provide unique work within a given theme.

The finalists of the award will have the opportunity to bring their projects to life in collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana. Prize-winning works will be showcased during the Abu Dhabi Festival, and winners and runners-up will be invited to an internship at Dolce&Gabbana’s head office in Italy, where they can continue their work under the guidance of real couture experts.

In the Fashion category, entrants can create a collection of traditional women’s dress, the abaya, combining the essence of Arab culture with contemporary style. Entrants are encouraged to draw inspiration from Abu Dhabi’s rich history, music, art, the beauty of the landscape, and breathe new life into the traditional design of the Emirates’ famous women’s dress.

The Jewellery category requires combining the worlds of music, art and jewellery craftsmanship, and creating high-end jewellery. Inspired by Abu Dhabi’s rich cultural heritage, the competition calls for showcasing the fusion of traditional Emirati values and innovative jewellery solutions from the Dolce&Gabbana brand.

In the Fragrances category, entrants will be challenged to create exclusive perfume compositions that harmonise Abu Dhabi’s traditions and Dolce&Gabbana’s creative vision.

A panel of judges consisting of expert perfumers, renowned artists, as well as representatives of ADMAF and Dolce&Gabbana, will evaluate the submitted works, taking into account their originality, artistic and cultural value, as well as their ability to combine the essence of traditional Emirati culture and modern global trends.
