Health and Happiness campaign launched in Dubai
The Dubai Health Authority has launched a public awareness “Health and Happiness” campaign inviting residents of the emirate to win prizes totalling AED 240,000.
The “Health and Happiness” campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of healthy habits, which among other things help prevent various diseases, as well as promote an active lifestyle in order to build a happy society.
Registration is already open for anyone aged 18 and over, and the competition will run until the end of December 2023. At the end of the competition, 30 male and female winners will be selected.
The competition is organised in collaboration with the STEPPI platform (you need to download the app to your smartphone to enter the competition) and Aster clinics and includes various competitions and fitness challenges. Participants must not have any diseases in which physical activity is contraindicated.
It is worth recalling that in 2022, Dubai ranked second among all cities in the world in terms of promoting healthy lifestyles in a ranking compiled by the British website Linstor.
The report, Healthy Lifestyles in Megacities, ranked 44 cities around the world on 10 criteria ranging from air pollution levels and the number of sunny days to the cost of a gym membership.
Dubai was second only to Vienna in the ranking, with Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Helsinki and Berlin also in the top ten. The sun shines for 3,509 hours a year in Dubai, and more than two thousand outdoor sporting events are held under it.
