BookHero bookstore gives away free educational books

BookHero shop in Oasis Mall Dubai has started giving away free educational books. Every schoolchild or student studying in the UAE can receive a total of four textbooks of their choice. The promotion started on 7 August and will run until 4 September. The shop is open daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

All you need to do is show any proof of study in the UAE. A student ID, admission receipt or tuition receipt will do, said BookHero founder Montserrat Martin. Even homeschoolers and students from abroad will be able to get their four free books.

The shop has about 5,000 textbooks in its collection for different educational programmes for both school and university studies. Students will be able to browse through all the books they are interested in and choose the ones they like the most.

BookHero has been running “book swaps” for the past six years, where readers bring their books and exchange them for other readers’ books. “This time we told the students: ‘Don’t bring us any books, just come and pick up any four [educational] books you like,'” said Martin.
