Record number of people visited Dubai’s parks
A record number of people visited Dubai’s parks in the first half of 2023. More than 15 million Emirati residents and visitors used the public recreational facilities. This is 50 per cent more than the same period in 2022, when around 10 million visitors were recorded.
Around 10 million people enjoyed recreation in areas near lakes and neighbourhood parks, while Dubai’s five largest park areas were visited by 3 million people, including 951,000 at Al Mamzar Beach Park, 701,000 at Mushrif Park, 658,000 at Creek Park, 430,000 at Zabeel Park and 153,000 at Safa Park.
In addition, 884 thousand people visited Dubai Frame Park, 710 thousand visited The Quranic Park, about 427 thousand visited Dubai Safari Park and 73 thousand visited Children’s City.
The rapid growth in the number of visitors to the parks is attributed to the convenience of Dubai’s transport infrastructure, which allows easy and quick access to any part of the city, as well as a variety of events and entertainment organised for residents and visitors to the Emirate. Of the more than 200 events held in 2023, 151 were organised by private businesses, 43 by public organisations and 19 by the municipality.
Dubai’s public parks cover an area of around 13 million square metres. Each park can offer city visitors and residents manicured landscapes, large car parks, plenty of free recreation and play areas, walking and cycling paths, picnic and barbecue areas, horse riding arenas, tennis and basketball courts and much more.
