Unusual museums in Dubai
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has compiled a list of the most original and unique museums in the emirate, which have something to surprise both locals and travellers.
The Museum of Illusions is located in the Al Seef neighbourhood on the shore of Dubai Creek. Several rooms feature an extensive display of optical illusions and immersive installations consisting of more than 60 objects.
3d World Selfie Museum is a unique museum with interactive galleries where visitors can take numerous original photos and selfies.
Pearl Museum presents a collection of jewellery made from seafood, as well as installations dedicated to the lives of divers and sailors, where you can see in detail the tools they used to extract and transport precious cargo.
The Al Shindahga Museum, located on the shores of Dubai Creek, demonstrates the Emiratis’ reverence for their history and traditions. The multimedia exhibition Dubai Creek: Birth of a City tells the story of the region’s development over the centuries.
Earlier, the famous Jumeirah Museum in Dubai opened its doors to the “Once Upon a Tale” museum – admission for visitors remained free. The museum has a collection of antique objects and rare artefacts.
Guests have the opportunity to travel back to the 70s and 80s in the United Arab Emirates. The museum is open to the public from 09:00 to 17:00 daily except Friday. Jumeirah is the only mosque in Dubai where non-Muslims are allowed entry six days a week.
