Transport links between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah improved
The United Arab Emirates has made life easier for drivers travelling from Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai with the opening of a new section of the E611 intercity highway.
The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure said the main purpose of the road project is to simplify the route of school buses and ensure smooth traffic flow in the region.
The opening of the E611 section of the highway will increase the capacity of the key route and help connect Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah as part of an integrated transport project. The opening of the motorway coincided with the start of the new academic year.
It is noted that the works are part of the Al Barashi Road Infrastructure Development Project, which will be completed by the end of 2023. Its implementation will improve transport links between urban areas.
In the first six months of 2023, almost 600,000 tourists visited the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Travellers started spending more money while in the emirate, which resulted in a 65% increase in revenue in the tourism sector. Foreign travellers accounted for more than half of the total number of visitors.
Ras Al Khaimah is known worldwide as the emirate of adventure. Tourists are attracted by the Hajar Mountains, sandy coastlines and incredible mangrove forests. It is also home to the longest ziplane in the world, 2830 metres long, and the highest mountain range in the UAE, Jebel Jais. In addition, the emirate is home to the first multi-day trekking route.
Ras Al Khaimah is not slowing down the pace of its development, opening new tourist destinations and increasing the level of service for guests from all over the world. In the nearest plans – opening a number of new hotels.
