Atlantis The Royal included in the top 50 best hotels in the world
Dubai mega-resort Atlantis The Royal has been included in the list of the World’s 50 Best Hotels, ranking 44th. The World’s 50 Best Hotels award ceremony was held in London and was attended by leading representatives of the global travel industry.
It is noted that the rating included hotels from 35 countries on all six continents. The first place was taken by a luxury boutique hotel Passalacqua on the shores of Lake Como in Italy, opened in June 2022. Rosewood Hong Kong came in second place, followed by Four Seasons Bangkok on the Chao Praya River, Upper House in Hong Kong and Aman Tokyo in the Japanese capital.
The World’s 50 Best Hotels list was compiled by The World’s 50 Best Hotels Academy, an influential group of more than 580 independent hotel industry experts. The Awards aim to inspire travellers to stay at the best hotels on the planet.
Atlantis The Royal features 17 restaurants and bars from some of the world’s most celebrated chefs – Gaston Acurio, Ariana Bundy, Costas Spiliadis and José Andrés. The hotel has several pools, including 44 landscape pools in suites and penthouses.
The resort got a helipad and the world’s largest aquarium with 4,000 jellyfish. The lobby was decorated with an 11.5-metre-high steel sculpture with a marine theme. The huge 93,000 square metre hotel boasts a 90 metre rooftop landscape pool with panoramic views of the sea and the island-palms.
The 43-storey building with 231 luxury residences, 693 hotel rooms and 102 suites was designed by the American architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. Rooms range in size from 55 square metres in the Seascape King category to the 118 square metre Sky Pool Villa suites, which can accommodate two adults and one child.
