RTA smart kiosks launched in Dubai
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced 32 smart kiosks with an expanded list of services. A total of 28 digital services related to vehicle registration, obtaining a driver’s licence, paying for parking and much more can be accessed through the kiosks.
“Smart” vending machines operate around the clock and provide customers with a variety of payment options, including cash, debit or credit cards and payment via NFC technology.
The smart kiosks have been installed at more than 20 locations, including the RTA’s main building, customer service centres, service provider centres, and at several popular locations in the city.
According to RTA officials, the new kiosks are equipped with an automated and intelligent performance monitoring system to track the performance of the machines and continuously upgrade service capabilities. This facilitates the provision of efficient and quality services to UAE residents around the clock.
It is learnt that RTA launched the smart kiosk modernisation project in 2021 to develop and improve the customer experience of digital services. Since then, the project has enjoyed significant demand and success with the public, and has met almost all the needs of residents.
The project has also increased the number of kiosks in Dubai and adjusted their locations to serve a larger segment of customers, with eight new kiosks added at six locations and 24 other locations upgrading smart kiosks.
