Dubai Fitness Challenge registration open
Dubai has opened registration for the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge, a sporting extravaganza that will sweep the emirate from 28 October to 26 November 2023.
Active lifestyle enthusiasts can look forward to a host of masterclasses and free classes across the city. All Dubai residents are invited to devote 30 minutes a day to sport for 30 days.
The fitness festival will include its flagship events, the Dubai Run Marathon and Dubai Ride bike race, as well as the new Dubai Stand-Up Paddle event at Hatta. As per tradition, the DP World Kite Beach Fitness Village will return to the beach, while a cycling centre will open at RTA Mushrif Park.
Meraas’ Run and Ride Central will be the ultimate destination for running and cycling enthusiasts. In total, participants will enjoy over 600 free fitness sessions and more than 400 classes throughout the month. The initiative will involve 25 community fitness centres across the city.
The Dubai Ride, sponsored by DP World, will take place on 12 November with the support of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority. Cyclists will ride along the closed Sheikh Zayed Highway, Dubai’s main thoroughfare, past the emirate’s major landmarks.
On 26 November, novice, family and professional runners will gather for the Dubai Run Marathon, which will also take place along Sheikh Zayed Highway. Last year, more than 193,000 runners and walkers took part in the marathon.
18 November will be a sports day in Hatta, with everyone welcome to join yoga classes and free SUP board rentals. Free transport will run from Dubai to Hatta for athletes.
This initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, should bring the emirate closer to its cherished goal of becoming the healthiest city on the planet. The festival not only makes people healthier, it also helps develop Dubai’s sports infrastructure.
