Dubai Shopping and Entertainment Festival to kick off on 8 December
In 2023, the Dubai Shopping Festival will kick off earlier than usual, as Dubai Festivals and Retail Estate (DFRE) announced that it will start on December 8 and run until January 14, 2024.
The shopping extravaganza, which will be the Emirate’s 29th edition, will last 38 days and will cover all areas of Dubai. On 15 December, Arab stars Ahlam Al Shamsi and Assala Nasri will perform at the Coca-Cola Arena.
Popular street culture festival Sole DXB will return with live performances celebrating 50 years of hip-hop – it will be part of the Dubai Shopping Festival for the first time and will take place from 8-10 December in Dubai Design District.
Earthsoul Fest will include raucous comedy shows headlined by prominent comedians. In addition, Dubai residents and visitors can expect concerts by Kazim Al Saher, Omar Khairat, George Wassouf and Majid Al Mohandis.
Traditionally, during the festival, shoppers will be treated to sales, discounts, special prizes and raffles, new pavilions with exclusive locally produced goods and much more.
As you know, the final holidays in 2023 will fall on 2 and 3 December, when the UAE will celebrate National Day. On 2 December 1971, the rulers of several emirates signed a union agreement to create a single state, the United Arab Emirates.
The country is dressed in the colours of the UAE flag: shopping malls and skyscrapers, parks and beaches – literally everything is painted in red, white, green and black. In the evenings, locals will be treated to fireworks. Working residents of the UAE will have a long weekend on the occasion of the holiday.
