Cruise season starts in Dubai
A new cruise season started in Dubai with the arrival of the luxury liner Mein Schiff 2 at the port of Mina Rashid. This season Dubai’s harbours are expected to welcome up to 150 cruise liners, thanks to which the Emirate will strengthen its status as a world cruise destination.
For example, the Resilient Lady Ship, operated by Virgin Voyages, will anchor in Dubai harbour: two of its routes will start from the Emirates’ shores. The emirate authorities are also actively cooperating with such major cruise operators as MSC Cruises, TUI Cruises, Aida Cruises, Costa Cruises and Ponant Cruises.
The new season will see liners from companies such as Cunard, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruises, Silversea Cruises and Cordelia Cruises, among many others, calling at Dubai ports.
It is worth recalling that last year, Mina Rashid Port was recognised as the Middle East’s leading cruise port at the World Travel Awards. Dubai Harbour’s cruise terminal welcomed 300,000 passengers last season, with ship calls up 40 per cent compared to 2021.
Dubai can accommodate the largest international cruise ships and continues to invest in cruise terminal infrastructure, easing visa regulations for passengers. Mina Rashid Port, in particular, can accommodate up to seven huge cruise ships at a time.
