Burj Al Arab invites to Santa’s Grotto
Hamley’s, the iconic toy shop with a history spanning over a hundred years, is set to open Santa’s Grotto in Dubai in collaboration with the famous Burj Al Arab Jumeirah Hotel. The event promises to be a fabulous experience for children and families alike, combining the legendary magic of Hamley’s with the luxurious surroundings of the Burj Al Arab. Visits can be booked from 22 to 26 December.
Santa’s Grotto will be located in one of the luxury suites and will be waiting for young guests, offering the most magical holiday experience. The event is free of charge but will be organised exclusively for hotel guests. Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted by the tantalising aroma of hot chocolate and children will receive a Hamley’s teddy bear and an additional surprise gift.
The partnership between Hamley’s and Burj Al Arab was announced during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on 6 December. The atrium was elegantly transformed into a winter palace with seasonal music and a performance by the award-winning Turning Pointe Ballet Academy.
In December, the magical atmosphere will continue throughout the hotel, providing endless opportunities to enjoy the winter season.
On 25 December, Santa himself will appear and meet hotel guests from 10:00 to 00:00. There will be a Christmas party for children with festive activities, a contact zoo, bouncy castle and piñata, promising endless entertainment and unforgettable memories.
In the lobby of the hotel, a Christmas tree made of crystal, reaching almost 10 metres in height, was placed next to an equally tall waterfall. Its majestic branches were decorated with 3,040 drop-shaped crystals inspired by the hotel’s logo, as well as 10,000 light bulbs, 3,000 ornaments and 900 kilos of intertwined garlands. This mesmerising spectacle was further enhanced by more than 1,400 gifts surrounding the base of the tree and 1,000 of Hamley’s signature teddy bears.
