Scared horse rescued on Dubai motorway

Several Dubai couriers have performed a brave act by calming down a frightened horse that was thrashing around the busy streets of Dubai. It was learnt that the lost animal was running through an intersection on Umm Suqeim street.

Several Talabat couriers were at the scene. Two of the couriers wasted no time in thinking and parked their vehicles and ran up to the horse and tried to calm it down. One of them managed to catch the agitated animal by the bridle and lead it to safety from the junction.

Representatives of the courier service expressed their gratitude to their officers for their swift action. “We support and applaud all positive and responsible actions by road users to keep our roads safe. And we are particularly proud of the two couriers who acted decisively today, ensuring the safety of both horse and people. As a company, we value the positive contributions couriers make to the communities they serve,” Talabat said in a statement.

This is not the first time couriers have heroically saved the situation on Dubai’s roads. In 2022, a social media user posted a video of a courier removing a large brick from a busy motorway to prevent potential accidents.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, also expressed great gratitude to the hero courier named Abdul Ghafoor on social media, and asked to be contacted. The Crown Prince later met the courier and posted a picture with the caption, “I am honoured to meet you Abdul Ghafoor! You are a true role model.”
