Happiness level in Dubai reaches 93%

The average level of happiness and satisfaction of customers of public services in Dubai’s government institutions reached 93 per cent at the end of 2023. Customers of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Foundation were the happiest, with their satisfaction level reaching 97.7 per cent.

Other organisations showing high scores were Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (96.7%) and Dubai Ambulance Services Corporation (96.1%).

Meanwhile, the average happiness rating of government employees in 2023 reached 88 per cent. The best performing organisations were the General Directorate of Dubai Residency and International Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) (95.17%), as well as the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Foundation (94.91%) and the Juvenile Endowment and Affairs Foundation (94.51%).

Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, said he was proud of all Dubai government agencies that achieved customer satisfaction rates above 90 per cent and raised the average to 93 per cent.

He reminded that the Dubai government is constantly working to improve the quality of services provided to the public. The results of the mystery shopper survey, in turn, showed that the happiness level in government offices reached 94.8%.

Back in 2017, the UAE established the World Happiness Council at the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. According to the Ruler of Dubai, the world is in dire need of a new approach to achieving human happiness that is based on co-operation and finding common ground.

“The example of happiness is contagious and we want as many people in the world as possible to feel happy and enjoy well-being,” the Dubai ruler elaborated. He clarified that changing the strategy will require a change in the culture of government bodies. “We want to shift the goals of international organisations to the common rails of happiness and positivity to ensure greater stability in the world and improve the quality of people’s lives,” Sheikh Mohammed said at the time.
