World’s largest Lego shop opened in Dubai

Dubai International Airport has officially opened the world’s largest Lego shop among the terminals. Located at Gate B in Terminal 3, the shop is 190 square metres in size.

The shop features many interactive zones that invite every visitor to experience the endless possibilities of the Lego universe. Upon entering the shop, you can scan your hand, bringing a Lego minifigure to life on the screen.

The shop’s assortment features both iconic and the latest construction sets, including the most popular collections. The range has been selected to ensure that there is a builder for customers of all ages.

The shop also houses Digibox, an augmented reality system that brings Lego sets to life. Shoppers will be able to see a short animation of the assembly on screen by simply placing the set in front of the camera.

The shop features a mosaic wall of Lego cubes depicting Dubai’s iconic skyline, which took 134 hours to create. It consists of 33,000 pieces and weighs 62 kilograms. Buyers will also be able to see a 3D Lego pilot over 190cm tall. It took 180 hours to create, consists of 45 thousand parts, and weighs 134 kilograms. Together, these impressive installations provide the perfect backdrop for travellers’ photos.

To celebrate World Lego Day and the official opening of the shop at DXB, which took place from 25 to 28 January, passengers met a walking Lego pilot and many lucky passengers received gifts.

Lego is the world’s most popular constructor, which are sets of parts for assembling a wide variety of objects. Lego sets are produced by the Lego Group, a group of corporations whose head office is located in Denmark. The company was founded on 10 August 1932.
