Rarest supercars to be auctioned in Dubai

The rarest supercars from the world’s leading brands will be auctioned in Dubai next month as thousands of millionaires move to the emirate in 2023 and 2024, with demand for ultra-luxury cars on the rise.

The event is organised by RM Sotheby’s, the world’s largest collector car auction house. The supercar auction will take place on 9 March.

The main lot will be a 1935 Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic, recreated by engineer Eric Coe. This iconic car is estimated to fetch between Dh2.57 million and Dh3.3 million.

In addition, a 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie in Scintilla Silver colour will also be offered at auction, priced between AED10.6 million and AED12.11 million (US$2.9 million to US$3.3 million).

For McLaren fans in Dubai, RM Sotheby’s said a 2014 Mclaren P1 will be on display, priced between AED 2.93 million and AED 3.67 million.

In addition, a 2022 Ferrari 812 Competizione will be on display for Ferrari fans. The V-12-powered car is estimated at AED 4 to 4.77 million.

Also available at the auction will be a 2017 Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 Coupé, which is one of only 20 Centenario Coupés produced to commemorate the centenary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini. The car is powered by a 6.5-litre V-12 engine and a seven-speed gearbox. The Centenario is estimated at between AED 7.34 million and AED 9.175 million.

In addition, one of the three Koenigsegg Agera RSRs produced exclusively for the Japanese market will be auctioned in Dubai. The supercar is powered by a 5.0-litre V-8 engine with 1,160 horsepower paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The supercar will be priced between AED 10.2 million and AED 12.5 million.
