Ugo Humbert wins ATP-500 tournament in Dubai

French tennis player Ugo Humbert, the 18th ranked player in the world, became the champion of the ATP-500 tournament in Dubai. In the final of the competition the athlete defeated in two sets the 23rd racket of the world from Kazakhstan Alexander Bublik. The meeting ended with the score 6:4, 6:3.

The athletes spent 1 hour and 25 minutes on court. In the course of the match, Ugo Humbert made nine euls and realised two break points out of six. Alexander Bublik had eight service aces and six double faults.

For 25-year-old Humbert, this is the sixth title of his career and the second in the season: earlier in 2024, he won the ATP-250 tournament in Marseille (France). Ugo will move up to 14th in the ATP rankings and renew his best position. Alexander Bublik, in turn, will enter the top 20 of the world’s best tennis players for the first time in his career.

“I played at a fantastic level throughout the week. Today was not easy… Six wins in six finals out of six? I really didn’t know that, but I have good stats. I’m surrounded by a really good team. Bublik is not easy to play against. He had a few break point opportunities, but I was calm and knew what to do,” commented Ugo Humbert.
