Dubai Future Foundation releases The Global 50 report
The Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has launched its Future Opportunities Report: The Global 50, which captures the key opportunities, transformations and trends shaping the future of the world’s governments, economies, their sectors and ultimately the future of humanity.
The third edition of the annual report was launched at the largest annual gathering of heads of government and an international platform for exploring the future development of nations. The 50 opportunities outlined in the report are organised into five main categories, including the following: Health Reimagined, Nature Restored, Societies Empowered, Systems Optimised and Transformational Innovations. Future development was identified based on four general assumptions: people will live longer and healthier lives, climate change will continue, wealth inequality will persist, and technology development will continue.
H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Managing Director of DFF, emphasised that current global challenges and changes require the world’s governments and publics to act quickly and effectively. However, a positive outlook on new opportunities and a willingness to capitalise on them is the cornerstone of success in preparing for the future and anticipating the transformations it will bring to humanity.
The Global 50 report examines the impact of future opportunities on more than 40 vital areas, including health, space, energy, transport, data processing and the economy. It was produced in collaboration with 25 global experts and several DFF Foundation partners.
