L’ÉCOLE Middle East opens permanent campus in Dubai

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and member of the Dubai Executive Council, opened the first permanent campus of L’ÉCOLE Middle East Jewellery School.

The new campus of the prestigious school, which is accessible to all, marks an important milestone in L’ÉCOLE’s plan to expand its global presence, strengthen its influence in the region and reach a wider audience by capitalising on Dubai’s rich cultural diversity.

Commenting on the event, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa highlighted Dubai’s growing reputation as a global centre for design and creativity. “Dubai offers an environment that fosters entrepreneurship and creativity, as well as providing opportunities to share expertise in various creative fields.

L’ÉCOLE Middle East’s carefully designed courses provide a unique opportunity to explore the art, history and intricacies of jewellery design under the guidance of experienced teachers and industry professionals.

The new campus, located in the Dubai Design District and designed by Constance Guisset, embodies L’ÉCOLE’s core values of craftsmanship, heritage and creativity. The design of the campus is in line with L’ÉCOLE’s unique educational approach, built around three core areas: “The History of Jewellery Art”, “The World of Gemstones” and “Savoir-Faire”.

L’ÉCOLE Middle East will donate 100 per cent of the proceeds from its public courses and lectures to Dubai Cares. This renowned charitable organisation is dedicated to improving access to quality education for children and youth in developing countries.

L’ÉCOLE Middle East kicked off its activities by presenting 13 educational courses and launching its first regional exhibition, Gold and Treasures: 3000 Years of Chinese Ornaments, which will run until 10 August. This exhibition brings together 100 masterpieces from the renowned Mengdiexuan Collection, one of Hong Kong’s premier private art collections.

In addition to these artefacts, visitors will also find crystal and gold nuggets from the L’ÉCOLE collection, which highlight the natural forms of this precious metal.
