Dubai to get one more opera theatre

Dubai will get a second opera house – a new cultural institution will appear in the Dubai South area. Reportedly, the second theatre will be floating, it will have a stunning design and will be part of the Azizi Venice project, which is being implemented by Dubai-based developer Azizi Developments.

“The floating architectural masterpiece will be located in the middle of a water lagoon and will overlook a dancing fountain. The venue will have a seating capacity of 2,000 and audiences will be treated to musicals, ballet performances, comedy shows and more.

In addition, the Venetian-style theatre will be making the space available for rent – for private functions, weddings and other events. Everyone will be able to visit the Opera House Museum, the exposition of which will tell about its history.

The Azizi Venice project, in addition to the theatre, will have a pedestrian boulevard, which will be open in winter and glazed in summer. The boulevard will house fashionable shops, nightclubs and entertainment venues, as well as many restaurants.

The new neighbourhood will get two five-star hotels and one boutique hotel in the middle of the lagoon. The project is estimated to cost Dh30bn and will be completed between 2025 and 2028.
