Dubai has become the most popular city in the social network TikTok – 29.7 million videos have been published about the emirate’s sights, which is an absolute record among the world’s cities.

For example, Dubai is ahead of London (10.3 million publications), Paris (8.8 million) and Istanbul (8.1 million) in the rating compiled by travel experts Bounce. The social network has over a billion active users.

Millions of times users have posted the Dubai Fountain dance, the famous skyscrapers Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, and details of life of Emirates flight attendants on the social network

Users were also attracted by the cleanest beaches and amusement parks, as well as a huge number of luxurious restaurants and trendy nightclubs. Interestingly, the capital Abu Dhabi also made it into the ranking, taking eighth place with 5 million publications.

In Dubai earlier recorded another record of growth in tourist flow – in the first half of 2024 the emirate was visited by 9.31 million travellers. For comparison, in the same period last year Dubai received only 8.55 million tourists.

Thus, the tourist flow increased by 9%, according to the report of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. It is worth recalling that in 2023, 17.15 million foreign tourists arrived in the emirate with an overnight stay. The authorities expect that at the end of this year a new record will be set.

Attracting tourists to the emirate is helped by business, entertainment and sports events organised throughout the year, among other things.

“With each passing year, Dubai continues to consolidate its status as a global tourism market leader and is becoming an increasingly popular international destination. We remain committed to supporting this trend and increasing the tourism sector’s contribution to Dubai’s GDP by offering tourists exceptional infrastructure and services,” said Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, UAE Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.

The Crown Prince called on all tourism industry players to expand partnerships in key markets, explore new opportunities and add value to Dubai’s offering by creating rich and memorable experiences.
