Dubai and Abu Dhabi become favourite cities for remote executives

Dubai and Abu Dhabi have topped the list of the most favoured destinations for digital nomads in executive positions. The ranking, compiled by UK-based Savills, says the two largest cities in the United Arab Emirates offer corporate staff everything they need to fulfil their responsibilities away from the office.

For example, Dubai, the tourist and financial capital of the Middle East, leads the way in terms of internet speed, quality of life and convenient air links. Dubai has the world’s busiest international airport and is building the future world’s largest air harbour, Al Maktoum International Airport.

Experts predict that Dubai’s attractiveness will remain for top-level digital nomads amid the launch of interesting residential and commercial property projects, as well as further diversification of the economy.

The capital of the United Arab Emirates has risen in the Executive Nomad Index from fourth place in 2023 to second place in 2024, demonstrating high internet speed and quality of life.

Savills noted that the UAE’s two largest cities, characterised by a dynamic business environment, are able to ‘offer everything you need to thrive both personally and professionally’.

Benefits include a favourable tax regime, education, business and employment opportunities, and world-class healthcare. However, cities lag behind other global capitals in the rankings in terms of climate suitability and rental affordability.

Malaga, Miami, Lisbon, Barcelona, Palma (Spain), Barbados, Algarve (Portugal) and St Lucia were also ranked in the top 10 of the world’s best cities for itinerant executives.
