Taxi in Dubai can be ordered via WhatsApp
Ordering a taxi in Dubai just got even easier, with passengers now able to hail a vehicle via WhatsApp. The new service is available 24/7, giving passengers easy access to travel at any time of the day or night.
The new feature will enhance passenger satisfaction with Hala Taxis, a joint venture between the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem. ‘WhatsApp allows us to reach a wider audience, and interact with more users in the city. By introducing this additional booking channel, Hala continues to care about customers and their comfort,’ said Khaled Nusseibeh, CEO of Hala.
To avail the new way of booking a taxi, one needs to send the message ‘Hi’ to 800 HALATAXI (4252 8294). Hala’s chatbot will query the passenger’s location to book the vehicle.
Passengers will then receive a booking confirmation with driver information and estimated time of arrival. Real-time updates allow customers to track the journey before the car is served.
Passengers will also receive a link that can be shared with friends and family to keep track of the journey. There will be two ways to pay at the drop-off point – bank card or cash.
Apart from booking through WhatsApp, Hala still offers the usual booking facility through the Careem app. Hala currently operates a fleet of 12,000 vehicles that transport Dubai residents and visitors across the emirate.
