Dubai Metro Music Festival to take place next week
Dubai Metro passengers will be treated to a week-long music festival as the fourth Dubai Metro Music Festival takes place from 21-27 September at five stations.
The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman, Union and DMCC – each station will feature music from around the world. Twenty talented musicians, both from the UAE and abroad, are scheduled to perform.
There will also be many surprises for passengers, such as concerts on the electric trains. Music of different genres and styles will colour the everyday life of Emirati residents and visitors travelling by public transport.
One of the highlights will be the performance of a nine-year-old child prodigy who plays eve, as well as a 14-year-old Emirati boy with autism – he will perform works on the piano. An exhibition of instruments made from recycled materials is also worth checking out.
The festival will feature a unique drummers’ show with the participation of children. Live performances will be available to watch daily, from 17:00 to 22:00. They will alternate to reach as many audiences as possible at different metro stations.
This year’s festival will feature instruments such as eve, keyboard, drums, accordion, flute, violin, saxophone, piano, balafon, darbuka, keytar, marimba and others. Musicians will also play electric guitar, pipe drum, hand-pans and homemade instruments.
