UAE launches famous heritage festival
The famous Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, held annually in the Al Wathba area of Abu Dhabi, will host this season from 1 November 2024 to 28 February 2025. More than 27 countries will take part in the grand cultural event.
According to the organisers, this year visitors can expect a host of new events, which for the first time will be held on a weekly basis. In total, more than 6,000 world-class cultural events and 1,000 major public performances are planned, which will be seen by millions of guests.
One of the biggest events of the festival will be the Union March: it will highlight the cohesion of the Emirati nation and the preservation of the unshakable national values laid down by the UAE’s founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
During the festival, there will be many fireworks displays. In addition, guests will be treated to the Musical Fountain Dance, numerous concerts and shows. The detailed programme will be announced soon.
As previously reported, Global Village Multicultural Park, Dubai’s popular family holiday destination, opens its 29th season on 16 October. This year, visitors will enjoy a restaurant plaza and three new pavilions with a rich cultural programme, inviting everyone to enjoy new and unique experiences.
Located next to the Carnaval Fair, the new Restaurant Plaza comprises 11 two-storey dining venues offering spectacular views of the surrounding area. In this culinary centre, guests will be able to sample a variety of cuisines while enjoying the various live shows and performances taking place on the centre stage.
Global Village has added three new pavilions, each with uniquely themed facades with kiosks and retail outlets selling merchandise representing the rich cultural heritage of the participating countries.
Railway Market, Floating Market and Fiesta Street have also undergone changes. Fiesta Street has recently welcomed the addition of two-storey street stalls that will provide an incredible gastronomic journey. Global Village also has new green promenades located throughout the park’s route.
