Dubai named ‘city of peace’ and model of tolerance
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, praised all those who helped organise New Year celebrations for millions of citizens, residents and tourists.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid described the New Year celebrations in Dubai’s 36 districts as an example of tolerance, civilised and peaceful co-existence, and the emirate itself as a ‘city of peace’.
First of all, the ruler of Dubai thanked the Committee for the Security of Events, which included 55 government agencies. Thanks to the efforts of 10,000 emergency personnel, including 8,500 police officers, the celebrations were held without incident.
The Ruler of Dubai expressed his wishes for the Emirates to become a worthy example for the rest of the world. As is well known, the UAE celebrated the coming of 2025 with a bang. Festive fireworks and pyrotechnic shows were organised in 60 locations in different regions of the country.
In Dubai, tens of thousands of spectators traditionally gathered around the tallest building in the world – the skyscraper Burj Khalifa, on the facade of which a pyrotechnic show with numerous visual effects was also held. Seven New Year’s Eve fireworks were also used in the Global Village multicultural park in Dubai.
