Naruto the Gallery comes to Dubai
An exhibition celebrating the 20-year legacy of the Naruto anime will open in Dubai on Friday, 31 January, giving UAE fans a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of the young ninja. The exhibition, titled Naruto the Gallery, will be open to guests until April 6 at The Concourse, located next to the Dubai Outlet Mall. This is the official premiere of the exhibition outside of East Asia, created to celebrate the impact of anime on Japan and the world.
Organisers expressed their pride at the opportunity to present Naruto the Gallery in Dubai, hoping that the event will allow as many fans as possible to immerse themselves in the rich history of Naruto. The exhibition will feature authentic artefacts and original artwork, including never-before-seen concept art and materials used in the creation of the series.
Visitors will be able to see the colourful scenery of Konoha, known as the Hidden Leaf Village, as well as the most memorable battles and character development details. Interactive displays will even allow fans to immerse themselves in some of the series’ scenes. Limited edition memorabilia and merchandise will also be on display. The exhibition is aimed at both long-time fans and those new to anime.
Naruto was originally a Shonen Jump manga, a type of Japanese comic book that is published weekly. The series follows ninja Naruto Uzumaki as he battles rivals while facing a troubled past to become the Hokage, the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village. The manga quickly gained popularity due to its complex world and well-developed characters.
Since its release, the Naruto manga has been translated into over 60 languages and has sold over 100 million copies outside of Japan, making it one of the best-selling manga in history. An anime adaptation was released in 2002, followed by a second Naruto Shippuden series in 2007, which aired until 2017. In addition, 11 feature-length animated films have been released.
