Poetfest.Dubai – A New Poetry Festival in Collaboration with BWC Balance Women Club
Dubai’s arts scene has welcomed a new charitable initiative that unites cultures and fosters creative expression.
BWC Balance Women Club, founded by Aigul Chukeeva and Galiya Hami, actively supports women in both creative and professional fields. Poetfest.Dubai, founded by Nadezhda Kashafutdinova, is a creative platform dedicated to poetry, music, and artistic expression. In Dubai, the project is developing with the support of BWC Balance Women Club, which contributes to its promotion and helps facilitate creative initiatives.

The Poetfest festival was originally established in St. Petersburg ten years ago and has now found a second home in Dubai. The project brings together poets, musicians, and artists, creating a shared language of creativity that transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries.
The Second Poetfest.Dubai Event
On February 13, the second Poetfest.Dubai event took place with the support of BWC Balance Women Club. Local poets, singers, and musicians performed for an engaged audience, while the welcoming and friendly atmosphere encouraged even first-time performers to take the stage. Attendees praised the event for fostering an open and inclusive space for creative expression.
Support from Distinguished Guests
The event was attended by Oleg Fomin, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, who emphasized the significance of such initiatives for the city’s cultural landscape:
“Events like these are essential for Dubai. They foster connections and enrich the community.”
Also present was Elena Tarilova, Chairwoman of the Association of Russian Compatriots in the UAE, who highlighted Poetfest.Dubai’s role in bringing together the Russian-speaking expatriate community.

Future of the Project
Building on its success, Poetfest.Dubai will continue to hold monthly events, providing a platform for poets, musicians, and artists. BWC Balance Women Club supports its promotion and contributes to event organization. The open format aligns with Dubai’s role as a center for cultural and creative development, attracting talented poets, musicians, and artists eager to share their work. Anyone with a passion for poetry, music, or art is welcome to participate—professional experience is not required, only the desire to express oneself.

Poetfest.Dubai – More Than Just Art
BWC Balance Women Club actively supports women’s leadership and cultural exchange. Through artistic and charitable initiatives, Poetfest.Dubai not only nurtures talent but also contributes to important social projects. These values align with the UAE’s broader goals, including:
- Women’s leadership – increasing the representation of women in leadership positions in the private sector to 30% by 2025
- Women in STEM – where 61% of STEM graduates in the UAE are women
