Dubai Launches Dual Ramadan Festivals
Dubai has unveiled two vibrant Ramadan-themed festivals this season, offering residents and visitors a deep dive into Emirati heritage, culinary traditions, and family-friendly festivities. The newly launched Ramadan District near the Museum of the Future and the returning Hai Ramadan at Expo City Dubai aim to capture the spirit of unity, generosity, and cultural pride synonymous with the holy month.
Open until March 23, 2025, the Ramadan District fair invites guests to explore the customs of Ramadan through interactive workshops, traditional treats, and a bustling marketplace. Attendees can browse souvenirs, perfumes, and designer clothing from regional and international brands, all while immersing themselves in the festive atmosphere. The event, located near Dubai’s iconic Museum of the Future, emphasizes accessibility with free admission, making it a hub for cultural education and celebration.
Meanwhile, Hai Ramadan—running until March 27 at Expo City Dubai—elevates the experience with dazzling 3D projections on the Al Wasl Dome, live performances by the UAE’s Fridaus Orchestra, and the family-friendly theatrical show Journey to the Moon. The festival also highlights Ramadan’s communal essence through lavish iftar spreads, where guests can savor authentic Arabic cuisine. Operating from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM daily, tickets cost 35 AED for adults (free for children under three), with organizers encouraging modest attire out of respect for local traditions.
Both festivals underscore Dubai’s commitment to blending tradition with modernity. While Ramadan District focuses on accessible cultural engagement, Hai Ramadan leverages Expo City’s futuristic infrastructure to create a multisensory experience—from its cutting-edge dome displays to curated culinary journeys.
