Abu Dhabi Launches Free Shuttle Buses to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

In anticipation of the sacred month of Ramadan’s concluding days, Abu Dhabi Mobility has launched free shuttle buses to facilitate worshippers traveling to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The initiative, aimed at easing congestion and enhancing accessibility, will operate 10 complimentary buses between the mosque and Al Rabdan bus station, ensuring seamless and safe transportation for visitors.

The measure addresses the expected surge in worshippers during the final ten nights of Ramadan, a period marked by intensified prayers and night-time Tahajjud observances. To manage traffic flow, authorities have deployed advanced surveillance cameras around the mosque to monitor real-time conditions and swiftly address bottlenecks or emergencies. Mobile electronic signage and real-time updates on fixed digital displays will guide drivers to designated parking areas, while traffic inspectors will oversee key intersections and signals near the site.

Additional efforts include increased road patrols and on-demand towing services to ensure rapid response to incidents. Taxi availability in the area will also double during this period to accommodate the heightened demand from worshippers and tourists.

“These comprehensive steps reflect our commitment to creating a safe, efficient, and stress-free experience for all visitors to the mosque during this spiritually significant time,” a spokesperson for Abu Dhabi Mobility stated.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the world’s largest and most iconic Islamic landmarks, regularly attracts thousands of visitors during Ramadan.
