Dubai’s Top Attractions Prepare for Seasonal Summer Closures

As temperatures in Dubai soar past 40°C (104°F), several of the city’s most popular outdoor attractions are preparing to temporarily close their doors for the summer months. The seasonal shutdowns, which typically last until September or October, affect iconic sites ranging from floral wonderlands to cultural hubs.

Global Village, Dubai’s sprawling multicultural festival park, will be the first to close on May 11, 2025, marking the end of its 29th season. This year’s edition featured pavilions from over 90 countries, including new additions from Jordan, Iraq, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The attraction currently operates from 4:00 PM to midnight (extended to 1:00 AM on weekends), with Tuesdays reserved exclusively for families, couples, and women.

The enchanting Dubai Miracle Garden, home to over 150 million flowers across 72,000 square meters, is expected to close in June based on previous years’ schedules. Visitors still have time to admire its breathtaking floral installations before the summer hiatus. Similarly, Dubai Garden Glow – one of the world’s largest glow-in-the-dark parks featuring 500+ nature-inspired installations – typically closes during peak summer months, though no official date has been announced.

Major renovations will temporarily silence the iconic Dubai Fountain at Dubai Mall, with its final show scheduled for April 19 before a five-month closure. The revamped water spectacle is expected to return in October with enhanced features.

Meanwhile, Dubai Safari Park appears to be accepting bookings only through June 1, suggesting an impending seasonal closure for its wildlife exhibits showcasing animals from the Arabian Peninsula, Asia, and Africa.

For last-minute visitors, pricing details remain consistent:

• Global Village: AED 25 (weekdays)/AED 30 (weekends)
• Miracle Garden: AED 100 (adults), 40% discount for UAE residents
• Garden Glow: AED 75
• Safari Park: AED 50 (adults), AED 20 (children)

The annual closures reflect Dubai’s adaptation to its extreme summer climate, with most attractions reopening in autumn when temperatures become more visitor-friendly. Tourism officials recommend checking official websites for precise reopening dates and potential changes to operating hours or ticketing policies.
