Dubai Marathon

Registration Opens for 2026 Dubai Marathon

Dubai has officially launched registration for the 25th edition of the Dubai Marathon, scheduled for February 1, 2026. As the Middle East’s oldest international road race, this milestone event will feature special celebrations and world-class competition, cementing its reputation as a premier fixture in global marathon running.

Held with the continued support of the Dubai Sports Council, the marathon is famous for its fast and flat course that attracts both elite athletes and recreational runners from across the globe. Organizers anticipate participants from over 140 countries, making it a key event in Dubai’s sporting calendar and a significant occasion in the international running community.

The Dubai Marathon holds the distinction of being the first race in the region to receive the Gold Label certification from World Athletics, recognizing its high standards and competitive quality. The event has hosted running legends like Haile Gebrselassie, who in 2008 recorded the second-fastest marathon time in history here – a performance that boosted the race’s international profile. Over its 25-year history, the marathon has consistently ranked among the world’s top 10, attracting elite competitors and thousands of amateur runners each year.

For the anniversary edition, participants can choose between three distances: the classic 42.195 km marathon, a 10 km road race, and a 4 km fun run, ensuring accessibility for runners of all abilities. Race director Peter Connerton noted that organizers are collaborating with the Dubai Sports Council and government partners to arrange special pre-race events leading up to the main competition.

Ahmed Al Kamali, the marathon’s general coordinator, emphasized Dubai’s exceptional infrastructure and experience in hosting major international sporting events. He highlighted how the marathon contributes to positioning Dubai as a leading sports and tourism destination.

Registration for the 2026 Dubai Marathon is now available through the official website: www.dubaimarathon.org. Whether you’re a competitive runner chasing a personal best or a fitness enthusiast seeking a new challenge, this historic edition offers an opportunity to be part of Dubai’s rich running tradition.
