Dubai Duty Free Crowned Best Duty-Free Retailer in the Middle East

Dubai Duty Free has once again solidified its position as the region’s premier duty-free retailer, securing the title of “Best Duty-Free Shop in the Middle East” at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2025. This marks the 24th consecutive year the retail giant has claimed the prestigious accolade, reaffirming its dominance in the travel retail sector.

The awards ceremony took place at InterContinental Dubai Festival City, coinciding with the opening of Arabian Travel Market, one of the region’s most influential travel and tourism exhibitions. The event recognized excellence across 40 categories spanning aviation, hospitality, and airport services. Organized by Motivate Media Group and Ink, the awards were determined through a combination of customer surveys and online voting conducted between February 4 and March 7, 2025.

Dubai Duty Free outperformed competitors from Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi, further cementing its reputation as the leading duty-free retailer in the Middle East. Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, and Sinead El Sibai, Senior Vice President of Marketing, accepted the award on behalf of the company. In his speech, Mr. Cidambi expressed gratitude to the DDF team for their unwavering dedication and thanked customers and voters for their continued support.

The award was presented by Anthony Milne, Commercial Director of Motivate Media Group, in front of an audience of over 300 industry professionals. The recognition highlights Dubai Duty Free’s commitment to excellence, customer service, and innovation, ensuring it remains a favorite among travelers in the Middle East and beyond.
