Dubai Accelerates Road Expansion with New Nad Al Sheba Bridge Project

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced plans to construct a new bridge that will significantly reduce travel time along the busy Dubai-Al Ain Road. The two-lane bridge, stretching approximately 700 meters, will connect the Nad Al Sheba district to the main highway, cutting commute times from six minutes down to just one. This development is expected to bring major relief to around 30,000 residents in the area.

With a capacity to handle up to 2,600 vehicles per hour, the new bridge aims to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at key entry and exit points in Nad Al Sheba. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with full completion targeted by the end of 2026.

The project is part of Dubai’s broader infrastructure strategy, designed to accommodate rapid population growth and urban expansion while maintaining high road safety standards. The RTA emphasized that this initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision to become the world’s best city for living and travel.

Earlier, the RTA had already opened another bridge at the intersection of Nad Al Sheba Street and Dubai-Al Ain Road, which has helped streamline traffic in the area. As part of ongoing improvements, road infrastructure near several schools has also been upgraded, enhancing safety and convenience for around 10,000 students.

The new Nad Al Sheba bridge represents a key component of the RTA’s strategy to create a safer, more efficient transportation network while improving residents’ quality of life. Authorities continue to incorporate public feedback in infrastructure planning, highlighting the importance of community engagement in urban development. All RTA projects are geared toward optimizing road efficiency, enhancing safety, and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global leader in sustainable mobility.
