Summer Sports Festival

Abu Dhabi Launches Region’s Largest Indoor Summer Sports Festival

Abu Dhabi has kicked off its flagship indoor summer sporting event, the Abu Dhabi Summer Sports festival, transforming the emirate’s National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) into a massive sports complex. Organized by the ADNEC Group and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, this fourth edition of the festival runs until August 21st.

Spanning over 37,500 square meters, the festival offers an extensive array of air-conditioned facilities designed to beat the summer heat. A total of 52 dedicated courts and zones cater to a wide variety of sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, padel, and even chess.

A major upgrade this year is the indoor running track, which has doubled in length to an impressive 1.2 kilometers and now features four full lanes. The festival also proudly introduces the international HYROX fitness race, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on July 19th.

New for 2024 is the “Club Zone,” where visitors can experience disciplines such as Muay Thai, boxing, weightlifting, archery, and judo. A separate area is fully equipped for CrossFit enthusiasts and gym workouts.

Families are well catered for with dedicated children’s play areas, creative zones, and summer camps. Beyond the sports facilities, the festival boasts a packed schedule of over 50 community events, including yoga sessions, meditation classes, workshops, sports training clinics, and competitive tournaments.

Recognizing the need for rest and recovery, a dedicated relaxation zone allows guests to unwind after their activities. The ADNEC sports complex is open daily from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM, offering complimentary parking and a variety of on-site cafes. Admission tickets start from 50 UAE dirhams.
